Okay, normally I keep my concert recount posts friends-locked, but this time I'm in charge or recounting our 2nd trip to the McFly concert and my friends want a copy so here I go! ^^;;


Me and mopizm 's crazy McFly concert adventuressss! 15th March 2009! :D

How to sum our crazy experiences up?
- St Patrick's Day parade
- Horse shit/Vomit/Urine smells
- Butt-spanking :D
- Yaoi fanservice
- Dougie's (bassist) smelly armpits
- Massive technical errors
- Hordes of scary screaming teenyboppers

All in all, was it a good experience? Abso-fuckin-lutely, baby! :D

Okay so mopizm and I went to the station together after trading the K-pop DVDs we'd made for each other haha. But it was JUST MY LUCK (hehehe my shameful reference to a movie McFly were in ^_~) that friggen trackwork was scheduled over the weekend which meant no trains were operating in my area so CityRail buses replaced trains for half the way. The joys of public transport....

But we made it alive to the city and were super early so we hung out in Kinokuniya oogling the manga and Asian magazines... mopizm  bought a VAMPS magazine because who doesn't love Hyde, and I could have bought the latest Arena 37 that DBSK were in but stupid me didn't bring enough money with me!!! Grr.

Anyways, it was decided that at around 11:30am-ish we'd meet the gang outside the Metro theatre. HOWEVER once again things didn't quite go according to plan thanks to the St. Patrick's Day parade that was taking place through the city, meaning that there were shitloads of crowds and streets blocked off. So it was quite a challenge even walking to the Metro but me and mopizm were jigging to the bagpipes and I even posed with a grin from ear-to-ear in front of the GUINNESS float. (If you know my last name then you'll understand why ^_~)

It was great having the parade going on actually, because it gave us something to look at as we waited in line. Plus, the Metro theatre is located on George Street and a backstreet so that people marching in the parade were waiting next to us! There were several historical cars decorated with shiny green shamrock decorations! It was awesome!

And since there were so many crowds for the parade the customary police riding horses were accompanying the historical cars near our line! Fans ran out to pat the horses and omg the horses were SO DAMN HANDSOME!!!! No really, it was love at first sight, I tell you!! HAHAH!

But with the good comes the bad... You see horses, like the rest of God's creatures, need to release their burden as well. Yes people, the horses left a giant pile of crap down the street were were lined up on and when the wind blew in our direction...holy hell were we almost knocked out by the terrible smell!

It was quite funny actually, because there was one time when the fans further away from us started screaming hysterically, so we thought that maybe McFly had arrived! But as soon as the wind blew in our direction, carrying the not-so-pleasant aroma of horseshit through our nostrils did we realise how wrong we had been. No, it wasn't McFly, it was merely death via horseshit lol.

But was horseshit the only smell on our radar that morning? HELLS NO! Right behind us it smelt like sewerage. I kid you not! Apparently someone had chucked up nearby (too much partying from the night before I wonder? Totally gross, but that's the city for you, lol! ^^;;)
HOWEVER, apart from the terrible smell, the horseshit did serve us some good entertainment! It gave our gang great joy watching out to see if any passers by would accidentally step into it, LMAO!! (Yes, we had nothing else to do so we had to find something to amuse us...) Actually, a small group of fans got up and tried actually pushing each other into the dung much to the amusement of McFly's manager and producer(??) who were sitting nearby watching the craziness of bored fangirls unfold.

But lucky for us, even though we had to wait for 2 or 3 hours, we did manage to see McFly arrive in their van!! In fact, as soon as we saw it coming we were instantly concerned that it would drive through the horseshit. We were all yelling out: "NOOOO NOT THE HORSE SHIT!!!" and frantically waving our arms around to signal to their driver to avoid the shit... But alas, the horseshit wanted a piece of McFly too and clung onto their van's tires, LMAO!!

The bummer was that there was a staff entrance RIGHT BEHIND WHERE WE WERE SITING!! But McFly's van drove into the one a little further down! But we did manage to spy the top of their heads in the van lol. And as they were walking further into the Metro Theatre Danny called out to us!! I couldn't see a thing but I heard him say loud and clear (and in a verrrry cheerful way) "HELLLLLLO!" in his cute British accent. As soon as he said it I remember jiggling up and down like a looney...but can I help it if Danny is my absolute favourite member and I happen to think that the British accent is to die for?!!! So sue me!! :P

Anita arrived shortly after that... It was a shame she missed the cute Danny action, but what can ya do?

Finally though, the doors opened 15 minutes late and the hordes of hyped up fangirls dying to get a piece of the McFly action, rushed through security (who were confiscating water bottles). At the doors to the actual stage area the security guards were yelling at the teenyboppers to calm down and walk single file otherwise face the punishment of having to go to the back of the line.... Honestly, I felt like I was back in friggen highschool or something... >_>

We made it through into the stage area though and most of the gang grabbed a spot at the front of the raised platform whilst me and mopizm  opted to stand behind the 2nd bar in the raised platform area. GREATTTT view! Right in the centre.

Whilst the support acts were jamming away mopizm raided the merchandise stand and bought me a McFly tour shirt!!! (I paid her back as soon as I got home despite her reluctance. Seriously, Moppy, you are such a sweetie! <3) I unfortuntely was faced with a dilemma at that stage: I needed to friggen pee my pants. I must have drunken too much water in line... sigh. But yes, I had this terrible image in my head of everyone jumping enthusiastically to McFly performing whilst I showed my support for them by peeing my pants. Oh yes, how smexy that would have been. Fortunately, the ladies room wasn't really occupied so I was saved. And I know that's the most random thing to comment on but it's MY recount and I was proud of myself for not peeing my pants, okay!!!!! lol

Moving on.


 

 

Cue the screaming so fucking loud my eardrums ached as McFly waltzed onto the stage in all their British glory. <3

Last time it frustrated the crap out of me that I couldn't remember half of the hilarious things that were said and done at the concert on the 27th Feb, so this time I had come prepared - throughout the whole concert I scribbled down notes over my train timetable hahah! Of course my next challenge afterwards was to try and decode my crazy writing afterwards... So here I am typing it up for everyone. Enjoy dear gang!


*One For the Radio*
- Dougie's bass immediately screwed up. I have no idea what the problem was but it lasted for quite a while. Staff members kept dashing onstage to help him out. It was quite amusing to me and mopizm lol.

- Danny then did some MCing adlibing whilst the guitar/bass problems were being sorted out. Someone seemed to have thrown a green St. Pat's hat onto the stage and Danny put it onto his head and said: "HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!!" Amen to that, Danny. :D

*Everybody Knows*
- This time Tom's guitar started experiencing problems and Danny had to do more adlibs. If I remember correctly I think they even had to pause the song a bit to fix Tom's problem up...

*Obviously*
- Dougie took a swig of his water and spat it out at the crowd making it go all misty in a fountain. It was friggen awesome! I love when performers do that... I don't think I've ever quite mastered that skill. ^^;;

- The song slowed down towards the end and we were all cheering like mad but Danny hadn't finished singing his lovely power notes and so he stared at us in mock disdain and yelled: "SHHHHH!!!!!" so that he could get the attention again and finish his glory notes. It was so funny! Danny sure is a cheeky bugger! ^_~

*Transylvania*
- They made a strange speech to introduce this song. Something about apologising for MySpace, FaceBook, and for the song... lol wtf!

- All of us sang the introduction to the song. It was awesome! We were all in sync with each other and it sounded great! Danny certainly seemed to approve because he started conducting us (which Cait thankfully caught on camera!! YOU GO GIRL!! :D)

- Tom and Danny even did some yaoi fanservice during the guitar solo parts. As always it was Danny who initiated it and it looked like he was trying to kiss Tom. Honestly, I wonder if they picked that habit up in Japan or if all British rock bands are crazy like that in general! And thanks once again to dear Cait, she caught it alllll on camera! Check it out!:





*Corrupted*
- It was pretty funny because after this song Danny randomly asked the crowd whether we knew how to tie shoelaces up.. Then he bent down as if he was waiting for the people at the front of the mosh to help tie his shoelaces haha. And the rest of McFly didn't seem to realise what he was doing and were like "what the hell are you doing, Danny!' hahaha

- I can't remember who said it but McFly then started teasing Danny for being so absentminded: "MR DANNY JONES, REFER TO YOUR SET LIST! YOU'VE GOT THE WRONG GUITAR!" lmaoooo!

*Star Girl*
- Tom and Dougie did a little fanservice here with their shoulder rubs or something like that.

- Afterwards they then introduced us to one of the staff members on stage with them (I'm sorry, I couldn't catch who it was!) and they were explaining how he was gay and were therefore wondering if anyone in the audience was gay and wouldn't mind hooking up with him, hahah!! And Dougie(?) added "preferably if you're a gay GUY." Classic. XD

*Falling in Love*
- Tom and Danny did more of their fanservice, hehe. Every time they did it me and mopizm  would scream like the yaoi-obsessed fangirls we are. :D

- Afterwards Tom was lifting his arms up, as you do when you wanna pump the audience up, and then since his arm was close to his head he jokingly says that he was checking himself to see if he had B.O HAHHAHA!! XD

- Then Harry was introduced and allowed his small time to interact with the audience. It was really hilarious because whilst Harry was trying to talk to us Danny was strolling around the stage playing his acoustic guitar so Harry pretended to get really peeved and yelled: "CAN I HAVE A BIT OF RESPECT, DANNY, PLEASE!" and then made all of us yell out: "SHUT UP, DANNY!" But he didn't stop there... He requested for Tom to spank Danny's butt for being naughty. We were all pissing ourselves laughing, especially when they turned to us and asked: "WHO WANTS TO SPANK DANNY?" baahahahah I love those boys!

BUT a lucky girl from the mosh area got selected by the security guards to come up on stage and actually spank Danny's ass!!!! LUCKY THING!!! And it didn't even end there! They then suggested that she also smell everyone's armpits and declare who the stinkiest member was! LMAO!!!! As this was happening, McFly asked the audience who we thought would smell the worst in McFly. And Harry was adding stuff like "if you think it's Danny then say: HARRY IS SEXY" (or something along those lines, haha). In the end it was declared that Dougie was the smelliest, bahaha!! To which he screamed into the mic: "BITCH!!!!!!"

Dougie had another hilarious response to this accusation. He said he had a perfectly good excuse for being the smelliest. He claimed that the shirt he was wearing was a shirt he had worn twice during the Japan lives after which he then put straight into his suitcase (without washing it) for our concert. Yeh, whatever Dougie hahaha. But the lucky fan then got to stay on at the side of the stage to watch the rest of the concert!! T___T Envy!


*Do Ya*
- It was at this stage that their cameraman came into the audience, literally the row in front of me and mopizm  and started recording footage!! HOW AWESOME!! It better end up as a special feature in one of their DVDs, I swear! lol

- Dougie also ended up saying after this song that instead of smelling everyone's armpits they should have gotten the fan to LICK their armpits.... Wow Dougie, could you be anymore feral??? LOL!

*Room on the 3rd Floor (?)*
- This time they didn't make the funny speech implying that Tom and Danny had intimate relations in the hotel room which was the conception of Dougie... lol. But oh well, we got it in the first concert so who can complain! ^^;;

*POV*
- The cameraman left...boooo!

*All About You (?)*
- After this song Tom started trying to get the boys to guess/introduce the last song they were going to perform for us in the main set list, however, as the boys pointed out: "THIS SONG NEEDS NO INTRODUCTION, MR FLETCHER!" haha

*Lies*
- Dougie threw his water at the crowd and then one lucky person got to keep his actual water bottle. I wonder if it had Dougie's lips on it or if it was a new bottle he opened... *perverted smile*

- Danny took his turn to spit his water like a misty fountain over the crowd. Honestly, I really wished I could do that! I just dribble like an uncoordinated baby. -_-;;

ENCORE: *Five Colours*
- Danny and Tom did yet again more fanservice for us, hehe.

- Towards the end of the song Danny started to show off and play his guitar perfectly whilst lying on the floor, haha.

- They started taking photos of us and then Danny started randomly taking photos of Dougie, hehe. Cait caught it on camera! :



And that was all she wrote!!

But after the concert, the gang wandered into the mosh to look for their guitar picks and stuff and we also got a security guard to take a photo of all of us. :D

And there was one more surprise left for us! Outside in the foyer the staff had left out a pile of tickets for fans to take who wanted the memories. We were all highly relieved about this because we thought we'd have to leave home yet again without any tickets as souvenirs!! But holy crap, I grabbed one that looked familiar and when I got home I realised that it was actually MY ORIGINAL TICKET!! I was screaming like mad when I realised. I'm looking at it right now.... It's my babyyyy!!

But yes, the gang headed off to have some snacks at McDonalds before we separated. Cait, me and mopizm  went to Town Hall train station on a McFly high and then we went home on our separate buses. On the way back me and mopizm  were highly amused because even though we were using different mp3 pods we kept somehow listening to the SAME McFly songs! One of our brilliant "やっぱり, ぼく達は完ぺきです!" moments. (AKA 'As expected we are perfect' lol).

That was such a good concert! Comparing it to the first one I wrote about, I think I really preferred this one! There was much more audience interaction. (I wonder if that was deliberate since the man was filming them more than the first concert? lol) I LOVE MCFLY!!!! <33333
